Corporate customers are arising if security CCTV systems are
offering products with quality of HDTV. The customers are
experiencing consumer HDTV and the natural response is "What
about the same technology for business security systems?"
.
A HDTV Camera with Analogue Output is being offered for a
first time for the security industry. Others are sure to follow.
An Austin, Texas based company is about to introduce a patented
video camera with unique resolution. 1280 by 720 pixels, compared
to conventional camera CIF resolution of 352 by 288 pixels,
is a landmark product by anyone's standard.
This
manufacture has provided internal technology to many of the
big names is digital recording and media serving previously
is providing the technology. The first product will be a HDTV
½" CMOS sensor in an analogue camera that can be used with
conventional coax, and fit in conventional housings. It uses
a fixed lens, with auto iris for outdoors not required, and
produces an analogue composite video output.
How
many times has your customer asked, "can I zoom in (1-200'
away) and see a license plate or make an ID on a person in
a wide angle shot? The software that will be offered allows
a 4X zoom with no degradation. Actually a 16X EPT (electronic
pan tilt) is also available.
The
net effect can be a fixed shot with up to three close up (4X)
window underneath the overview for close ups.
Price
will be low cost, relative to conventional CCD high-resolution
color cameras. The manufacture is working with multiple DVR
manufacturers to optimize recording with stitching code to
display 1280 by 720 pixels @ 7.5 pps or 720 by 480 pixels
at 30 pps.
A
full suite of IP suite of solutions will be offered for cameras
and recorders by end of year. The manufacture may be seen
at the ISC-West show in Las Vegas.
Is the security industry moving towards IT Solutions in gathering,
storing and transmitting video Digital Video images?
Many exciting new products are being offered by non-traditional
security suppliers. Of course many of the first solutions
will evolve as various manufactures offer individual solutions.
Eventually a standard will develop as the industry matures
on the product offerings. Digital Video images are data files.
These data files need to be compressed sent on a data networks
and be uncompressed for usable picture. Digital chips are
playing major role, as much of the processing will be in the
chips themselves at the camera not at the recording site.
IT
Solution and manufacture providers are offering many of the
traditional services that previously belonged to security
professionals. Every distribution point has IT providers either
selling or installing CCTV system and controls.
